Supergirl‘s final season will feature a return of media mogul and Supergirl mentor Cat Grant.
While it’s unknown if the Calista Flockhart-version of Cat Grant that Supergirl fans have come to love will return in Season 6, The CW show confirmed to EW that the series will feature a younger version of Cat Grant in the final season’s Episode 5 and Episode 6. Known then as “CJ Grant,” the younger, story-hungry journalist will be portrayed by newcomer Eliza Helm.
CJ Grant will appear in flashbacks in Season 6 and her official character description reads, “Eager to step out of Lois Lane‘s shadow and out from under her boss, Perry White’s thumb, Cat chases a story to Kara’s hometown of Midvale. This lead won’t go as planned, but it will put her on the trajectory toward the Media Powerhouse we know and love as Cat Grant.”
The Grant-focused news also revealed the titles for the episodes starring CJ Grant. Season 6, Episode 5 will be titled “Prom Night.” The sixth episode of the final season will be titled “Prom Again!” Flockhart’s Grant last appeared in Season 3 of Supergirl, ending with Kara’s mentor knowing her true identity and leaving to work as the White House’s Press Secretary.
The official synopsis for the first episode of Supergirl‘s last season reads,
