Yes, Virginia, there will be new DC solicitations soon.
DC has informed retailers that solicitations and art for August on-sale comics books will be released this Friday, May 15. As is standard procedure, the release of solicits will precede Diamond Comic Distributors’ May/June Previews catalog (for titles on sale in August) on May 27.
The publisher also informed retailers that “many comics originally solicited for June on sale will now shift to July on sale” and they plan to announce full details of this schedule change next week.
That became obvious when DC released their revised June schedule last week, which included 71 new comic book releases.
There may, however, be brand new product in July too. DCeased: Dead Planet #1, the debut of a six-issue limited series, goes on sale June 30 and a second, previously unsolicited issue may release in July.
DC also announced the previously-unsolicited Harley Quinn #75 will go on sale August 5.
DC’s August solicits may look markedly different than Marvel’s. The latter publisher released a much more conservative release schedule through early July, meaning Marvel will likely be resoliciting previously-solicited comics through the summer months.
