Remember The Flash‘s big mystery as to who (or what) Godspeed is? Answers are now promised in an upcoming episode of the CW show in an upcoming episode.
Entertainment Weekly reports that May 5’s episode will feature the return of Godspeed – as well as the Pied Piper.
“It’s an episode where we’re going to see some changes because of ‘Crisis,’ and Hartley Rathaway, [a.k.a.] Pied Piper, is going to be back,” series star Grant Gustin told EW. “In that episode, Godspeed is back.”
Titled “Pay the Piper,” this episode keys into the shared idea of ‘sound’ between the two villains: Pied Piper is based on sound, as is Godspeed, whose clones were revealed to be mute but created a uniue, high-pitched frequency.
“Hartley really isn’t a friend when he comes back, but Barry’s going to need to find a way to reconnect with Hartley and try to fix what ‘Crisis’ changed and stop Godspeed, and try to save the city,” Gustin explained.
Godspeed was originally introduced a year ago, with the Flash team’s pursuit of the mysterious adversary a recurring storyline in episodes that followed.
Possible spoilers here, but comics Godspeed was revealed to be a co-worker of Barry Allen named August Heart.
