The U.S. launch date for the HBO Max streaming service has been set for May 27, as reported by Variety. The service will be launched at a $14.99/month price point.

Tagged as “Where HBO meets so much more,” HBO Max is more than just a streaming version of HBO (or its current HBO Now streaming service), but rather will work as WarnerMedia’s de facto premiere streaming service with content from across the multimedia company’s portfolio. Classic content includes Friends, Big Bang Theory, South Park, most of the Studio Ghibli films, The Wizard of Oz, and the DC films Joker and Suicide Squad.

Comics-related TV shows scheduled to debut on HBO Max include the second season of Doom Patrol (shared with DC Universe),  a new Boondocks cartoon, a three-part animated Aquaman: King of Atlantis, the live-action DMZ series, and three more new shows that haven’t been specified as live-action or animated: DC Super Hero High, Strange Adventures, and an as-yet-untitled Green Lantern.

HBO Now subscribers who bought it through HBO will get access to HBO Max for free, as well AT&T and Charter Communications customers who subscribe to HBO.
