With an end to the coronavirus pandemic uncertain, Warner Bros. has re-shuffled the release dates of The Batman, The Flash, and the Shazam! sequel, according to Deadline.
The Batman is pushed back almost four months, going from June 25, 2021 to October 1, 2021. October 1 is the same theatrical window as last year’s The Joker.
The beleaguered The Flash is shifting up a month, going from July 1, 2022 to June 2, 2022.
Lastly, the announced Shazam sequel has been delayed seven months – going from April 1, 2022 to November 4, 2022, which would place it just 6 weeks before the Aquaman sequel, on December 16.
Wonder Woman 1984 and The Suicide Squad remain on their August 14, 2020 and August 6, 2021 release dates, respectively (and for now), possibly due both having already finished principal photography. Warner Bros. previously placed Black Adam on December 22, 2021 and DC Super Pets on May 22, 2022 (now just two weeks before The Flash). Deadline is not reporting changes to those dates, although that could either be the films remaining on schedule or having been moved or removed by Warner Bros. previously without being reported.
