Screenwriter/producer Joby Harold has been hired as the new lead writer for Disney+’s Obi-Wan streaming series starring Ewan McGregor, according to Variety. Harold would replace the previously-announced Hossein Amini, who reportedly left the project back in January.
Harold executive produced John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, as well as the TV shows Underground (WGN America) and Spinning Out (Netflix). He and writing partner James Vanderbilt were previously reported as writing a new Transformers film.
Obi-Wan was originally scheduled to begin filming earlier this year, but the production crew was sent home in January (prior to and unrelated to the coronavirus crisis) and Amini departed the project.
