Production on Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios’ third Spider-Man film has been delayed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, according to the British Film Institute’s Sight & Sound magazine.
Reporting on how coronavirus has affected the British film industry, Sight & Sound states that production on the film has been delayed, but does not report how long, or whether the film’s projected July 16, 2021 release date could be changed.
Filming was scheduled to begin this summer, according to previous reports.
The untitled Spider-Man 3 is the latest Marvel production reported to be halted, following Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Meanwhile, the already completed Black Widow has been postponed from its planned May 1 release, with no make up date announced.
