In March, artist Marcos Martin will produce a series of X-Men-themed variant covers based around the 1982 graphic novel God Loves, Man Kills.
The variants, for Wolverine #2, X-Men #8, Excalibur #9, New Mutants #9, X-Force #9, and Marauders #9, cover most of the “Dawn of X” line – but what’s the impetus to honor this particular story now?
The solicits themselves don’t indicate exactly why (is an 18th anniversary special these days?), but perhaps the stories inside X-Men comics in the month of March will harken back to that classic tale, which formed the basis of the film X2.
