Warner Bros. Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) has been rated R by the MPAA, as listed on FilmRatings.com.
This would be the third R-rated film based on DC supehero characters, following 2009’s Watchmen and 2019’s Joker – although the first in DC’s interconnected DC film universe.
Marvel Comics characters the Punisher, Blade, and Deadpool have all headlined R-rated films.
Writer/director James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad was previously reportedas expected to be rated-R as well – though time will tell.
Birds of Prey is due out in theaters February 7, 2020.
