An actor’s copy of the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was briefly for sale on eBay – but Disney was able to catch it before it was leaked any further, according to co-writer/director J.J. Abrams.
“One of our actors, I won’t say which one – I want to, but I won’t – left it under their bed and it was found by someone who was cleaning their place,” Abrams said on Good Morning America. “It was then given to someone else who went to sell it on eBay.”
Abrams goes on to say that a unnamed Disney employee noticed the listing on eBay, and notified Disney who “got it back before it was sold.”
The director didn’t disclose if charges were filed in the theft.
