Kyoto Animation has announced that its Violet Evergarden movie will open on Apr. 24, 2020, following a delay from the original release date of Jan. 10.
Inspired by the series of light novels written by Akatsuki Kana and illustrated by Takase Akiko, Violet Evergarden was first adapted into a TV anime in 2018 and streamed worldwide via Netflix.
The movie is set several years after the war, just as the world is returning to peace. Nevertheless, Violet finds herself continuing to dwell on her memories, when a mysterious letter arrives.
