Todd McFarlane has designed a Batman statue that will be the 100th entry in DC Collectibles’ Batman: Black & White line. A special 6-foot-plus version of the statue is scheduled to be revealed on Thursday evening during the Comic-Con Museum’s Hall of Fame ceremony for Batman Thursday in San Diego.
“To simply be a part of the 80th anniversary of a character that has always held such a special place in my heart is an honor,” McFarlane said in an announcement. “But in designing this statue I truly feel like I’m adding to Batman’s legacy and in the process benefitting a hall of fame that will become an institution both for comic fans and the San Diego community.”
McFarlane’s design is taken from his cover to Batman #423.
The oversized statue is scheduled to be auctioned off Thursday evening with proceeds going to the Comic-Con Museum.
