Amazon Studios has ordered a live-action series based on Brian K. Vaughan and Cliff Chiang’s Paper Girls series in what was described as a “competitive” bidding situation, according to Deadline. The online streamer has ordered the show straight to series, with Legendary Television and Plan B attached as producers.
Toy Story 4 co-writer Stephany Folsom will adapt Paper Girls to TV, acting as an executive producer alongside Vaughan and Plan B.
This Paper Girls adaptation is part of Vaughan’s recently-signed multi-year overall deal with Legendary Entertainment.
The original Paper Girls comic published by Image Comics is scheduled to end July 31 with issue #30.
No timetable for release was given.
