Timothée Chalamet may be an “of the moment” choice for the role of a Dick Grayson in his early 20s, but we can’t unsee it and we can’t unsay it – and actually, It makes a lot of sense.
Chalamet’s star making turn in coming-of-age drama Call Me By Your Name comes to mind, and while the romance we’d be envision for Grayson in The Batman (or any number of spin-off films) would be alongside Barbara Gordon, the energy Chalamet brings to the screen would perfectly capture Dick Grayson at a critical point as he moves into the Nightwing role, striking out on his own for the first time.
Chalamet’s star is on the rise, and he’s in his early 20s, putting him directly in position to own and grow with the role of Nightwing.
It doesn’t hurt he and Wolfhard could credibility pass for almost look-alikes, in the spirit of the Dick-Tim legacy.
