Marvel Comics has unleashed another wave of creator announcements for whatever its got planned for August 2019.
In the wave of new announcements, which were heralded ahead of time by Marvel Comics Editor-In-Chief C.B. Cebulski, includes the following creative teams, still with no title or titles attached:
– Rainbow Rowell and Kris Anka
– Kurt Busiek and Cameron Stewart
– Saladin Ahmed and Steve Rude
– Eve L. Ewing and Jen Bartel
– Greg Pak and Takeshi Miyazawa
– Dan Slott and Marcos Martin
– Charles Soule and Steve McNiven
– Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale
– Patrick Gleason
– Chip Zdarsky
– Al Ewing and Cory Smith
– Ryan North and James Harren
– Adam F. Goldberg and Adam Riches
– Kelly Thompson and Pepe Larraz
– Gail Simone and David Baldeon
Many of these creative teams have long associations – Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale, Greg Pak and Takeshi Miyazawa, Ryan North and James Harren, Dan Slott and Marcos Martin, Gail Simone and David Baldeon, Rainbow Rowell and Kris Anka, and Charles Soule and Steve McNiven are all established creative teams who have worked together previously or who currently work together.
This will be the Marvel Comics debut Adam F. Goldberg, creator of ABC’s The Goldbergs.
It’s unclear what project or projects these creators may be involved in – however it seems to be tied to Cebulski’s previous statements that he “has an idea” to sell a million copies of a comic book. It may also involve Marvel’s 80th anniversary, which is marked this year.
