DC’s latest attempt to restore the reputation of the shared DC film universe Shazam! took in an estimated $3.3m in a Saturday preview showing (via BoxOfficeMojo). This tops Aquaman’s preview earnings of $2.9 million.
Aquaman went on to open to $68m its first weekend and over $334m overall at the domestic box office.
Shazam! opens in theaters April 5 and is currently expected to open in the $40-50m range.
