A Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated film is being developed by Nickelodeon Studios for Netflix, according to Deadline. The film will reportedly not be connected to Nickelodeon’s current animated TV series of the same name.
“This partnership with Netflix is part of Nickelodeon and Viacom’s broader efforts to tap into Nickelodeon’s library of culturally resonant properties and produce new content for third-party digital and linear platforms,” said Viacom CEO Bob Bakish.
An animated Loud House film was also announced as part of this deal.
Neither Nickelodeon or Netflix released a timetable for the two films’ release.
